As I look back on 2025, it has been a truly remarkable year for the Citryll team. With a laser focus on the clinical development of CIT-013, our first in class monoclonal antibody for the treatment of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, we have initiated two Phase 2a trials in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). Throughout the year we have been sharing clinical and research insights, which have underlined the strength of our Extracellular Trap (ET) based approach. These achievements have only been possible through the relentless energy and diligence of the team, to whom I am immensely grateful.
This year saw a special milestone for the business, as we marked our 10-year anniversary. We celebrated with a symposium in Amsterdam, bringing together colleagues, collaborators, and supporters to reflect on our progress and setting out vision for the years ahead. It was a particular privilege to hear from two patients during the course of the day. Their moving, personal experiences on the challenges of living with RA and HS were a powerful reminder of what drives our work at Citryll.
Important clinical progress has been made this year. September saw the start of the ‘Citydream’ Phase 2a trial in RA, followed by the launch of the ‘Citylights’ Phase 2a trial in HS in December. We look to sharing data as meaningful milestones are reached, in support of our mission to deliver much-needed treatment alternatives to patients living with these debilitating conditions. Success in these trials would further validate our ET-targeting approach, and its potential to address a broader range of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.
Throughout 2025, we were pleased to share new findings highlighting CIT-013’s therapeutic potential. At ACR Convergence 2025 in October, we presented positive Phase 1 data in rheumatoid arthritis, demonstrating a favorable safety and efficacy profile and supporting our advancement into Phase 2a trials. We also presented novel data at the Inflammatory Skin Disease Summit, the International Congress of Immunology, the Novel Concepts in Innate Immunity Conference, and the Dermatology Drug Development Summit, among others—strengthening our scientific and clinical foundation while engaging with fellow innovators across the field. Looking ahead, we remain committed to sharing meaningful data at key industry conferences and to maintaining close dialogue with patient groups and clinicians.
We have also looked to strengthen the understanding around ET biology. In February, we published research in Frontiers in Immunology, demonstrating that CIT-013 not only targets Neutrophil ETs but also effectively inhibits Eosinophil ETs with the same potency, broadening the therapeutic potential of CIT-013. We also published research in the International Journal of Dermatology, exploring the role of ETs in HS, further validating our therapeutic approach in this challenging condition.
To support our clinical trial progress, we formed a Scientific Advisory Board in July, welcoming Dr. Tim Hammond, Professor John Hamilton, and Professor Paul Kubes, whose expertise has already proven invaluable as we advance our programs. We’ve also expanded our team with clinical advisors for both our Citydream and Citylights trials – Dr. James Krueger, Dr. Alexa Kimball, Professor John Frew, Dr. Patrick Verschueren. Their collective expertise is indispensable, and I look forward to close collaboration in the months and years ahead.
As we enter 2026, our eyes remain fixed on advancing our clinical trials of CIT-013, to ensure patients have access to better treatment options. Our ET-targeting approach has the potential to transform how we treat immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, and we’re more committed than ever to realising that potential.
I want to take a moment thank our team, board, investors, scientific and clinical advisors, and partners for their dedication and support. The past decade has been an incredible journey, and we’re excited about what lies ahead.
